Thank
you, Ms. Peart, for gifting me the first two books and allowing me an ARC of
the third.
This
book is HILARIOUS. Colin, Natalie, and
the gang are back in this, the third novel in the 'Almost A Bad Boy'
series. Action, sex, and tongue in
cheek, witty banter abound in this funny fast-paced favorite!
We
are introduced to Colin's family - a spunky group of senior citizens who
believe in living their lives to the fullest.
Most notably his great grandmother, Helga; his grandmother, Libby; and
their friends Stella, Agatha, and Melba.
While everyone is celebrating Helga's 85th birthday, she and Stella
disappear. Colin is understandably
confused and worried (heaven knows that he has knight in shining armor disorder
- but that's why we love him). Natalie,
Colin, Libby, Stella, and the rest of Natalie's BFF's (including Svetlana)join
the chase to find the missing octogenarian.
What
follows is some of the best written, slapstick comedy that I've read in
YEARS! There is still good amount of
steamy sex, one of the funniest road trips ever, and all the snarky banter that
a reader can hope for!
Another
fabulous book by an author who is fast becoming one of my favorites!
♥ Tell us about yourself.
First of all, thank you for having me
over.
My name
is Angela Peart. I was born and raised in Poland, but at some point in my life
I decided to travel the world and finally ended up in the States. I live in the
Seattle area with my family and cat Cinnamon. But don’t tell call him a “cat”.
He thinks he’s a dog.
My family and writing always come first. Exercise,
healthy eating, friends, and art—especially watercolor painting—are my true
passions. I would also toss into that category travel, music, dancing, and
fashion (yes, stilettos included!).
♥What are three things about you that might surprise
your readers?
I don’t know. No, really (*laughs*). I
give my readers a lot of credit. They can figure out things very quickly and
totally on their own. But how about this:
~ English is my second language. I write
and publish exclusively in English, although I also speak, read, and write in
my native Polish and in Russian.
~ I cook almost every day from scratch
although I really don’t like cooking. One day, when I can afford it, I will
hire a chef!
~ I don’t have anything favorite—no favorite
color[AP1] , song, book, movie… you name it. But, of course, I’m
passionate about a lot of things.
♥ Where did the
idea for the Almost Bad Boys series storyline come
from?
I
have been writing mostly in Young Adult paranormal/urban fantasy genre, so this
is a big step in a completely different direction for me. I had a few ideas for
a contemporary romance in my head, but the one that I chose for the Almost Bad
Boys series came to me when I was returning from a book signing in San
Francisco in June 2013. I was so excited about the plot that vividly unfolded
in my mind during the flight that I immediately started to take notes. By the
time we landed in Seattle, I had a few pages of plot points and possible
characters’ bios.
♥Top 5 favorite scenes from the “Almost Bad
Boys” series?
Oh, wow—only five? I honestly
love each and every scene! But okay, if I had to choose just a few… let’s see…
(*squints at the ceiling). In book one, Almost Matched, when the protagonists
meet—this is a hilarious scene. I chuckle every time I read it. Natalie runs
into Colin in her office while only partially dressed. Speaking of
embarrassing!
Let me remind you—this series is written with some crazy humor so some
of the scenes are totally outrageous. Another one of my favorite ones is when
Natalie “gives” Colin his Birthday cake, bwahahaha. Trust me, it’s not for the
prudes.
Book two, Almost Broken Up, starts with a very emotional rollercoaster
through Colin’s past. That scene reveals the details from the dark side of his past
that he desperately tries to keep well-hidden from others and from himself.
That very excerpt is included at the end of book one.
There are tons of awesome scenes in book three, Almost Too Far that is
scheduled for publishing on March 30, 2014: hot and steamy intimate encounters
between Natalie and Colin, and funny scenes with the rest of the characters,
including Natalie’s friends and Colin’s great-grandma Helga.
♥What scene did you have the most fun
writing? Why?
Again, that wouldn’t be just one scene. Not possible. I had fun writing
the WHOLE series. The sex scenes were fun to write, because it was as if my
characters were taking over and basically telling me what to write. Although I
have to admit, the very first erotic scene (it was THE first erotic scene that
I have ever written!) was tough. I had no idea how to write it. But, I guess,
they turned out really well, because my readers love them!
♥The five best things about being a writer?
For me it’s being in charge of my business. I don’t have a boss. I don’t
have anyone breathing down my neck and wrinkling his/her nose about how things
are ran here. I decide on what and when is written and published. I decide on
the cover art, I work directly with the graphic designers, sometimes even with
photographers, with editors, book formatters etc.
I work a lot, no doubt—on average eight to ten hours a day, seven days a
week. Even on vacation, I still work. But I love it because I love my readers
and their enthusiasm. I love the bloggers I work with and my Devious Sassy
Divas team. I love my author friends. They are amazing.
♥What other releases do you have planned
for 2014?
I’m starting the brand new romantic suspense series with six full size
novels planned. Each book will be a stand-alone, which means they don’t need to
be read in order. First book should be out at the end of May, or, the latest,
by mid-June with hopefully two more released before the end of 2014. I will
also have three Almost Bad Boys series spin-offs with at least one releasing in
2014.
Thank you for participating in the Almost Bad Boys series blog tour, Lori. I'm so happy you enjoyed the series. Thank you for reading and reviewing. I'm glad to gain a new reader in you!
